Our government has an important role in providing support to older adults so they can stay independent, safe, healthy, active and connected to the community. Aging with Confidence: Ontario’s Action Plan for Seniors focuses on areas that seniors say they care about most, including living independently for as long as possible and staying connected through social, recreational and volunteer activities. Eleanor McMahon, MPP for Burlington, will speak about the senior’s action plan at our Housing Options Expo on April 14.
As we age there will come a time when the question arises – “Should I stay in my current home or is it time to move?” The truth is it’s a very personal decision and what’s right for one person or family is rarely right for someone else. Often seniors find just thinking about moving overwhelming and simply avoid the matter until they find themselves in a crisis situation. As a Master Accredited Senior Agent my goal is to help seniors make decisions about their future housing by choice rather than by circumstance and this event is one way to present valuable information to seniors and their families to help get important conversations started.
This FREE Seniors Housing Options Expo is being hosted in partnership with Amal Helbah-Dawson (Financial Planner, Investment and Retirement Planning, RBC Royal Bank)
